Equipment and Attire

Team T-Shirts and Caps

To encourage team spirit and unity, every season, swimmers are provided with Herndon Halibut t-shirts and swim caps. At the Parents' Meeting, we will begin taking note of swimmers' requested t-shirt sizes. All swimmers who do not provide a t-shirt size request by the end of the first week of practice, will be issued a size as determined by the coaching staff. Swim caps are one size fits all.

The caps and shirts are provided at no extra cost.

Team Swimsuit

Team suits are available to purchase every season. This year, we have picked a suit available for purchase online through our Halibut Team Store*.

If you are unsure of what size suit to order for your swimmer, a sizing kit will be available during our Halibuts Parents' Meeting on May 19th, and during the first week of practices. Separate arrangements to try on the suit can be made by contacting Coach Jenna. Orders for the suit will close at midnight on Sunday, May 31st, so that we can ensure delivery before our first swim meet.

The purchase of a team suit is not required, but is encouraged, and is especially recommended for use in swim meets. Alternatively, swimmers may wear a suit that they already own, or may also choose to purchase a suit that looks similar to our team suit.

*Note that there are solid color options for both male and female suits available on the team store this year. This is because there are some inventory shortages in specific sizes. If your suit size is not available in the printed suit, the solid color is provided as an alternative.

Other Equipment

No other equipment is provided or required for practice or swim meets, though goggles are highly recommended. We do not use fins or hand paddles. Bringing a water bottle to practice is encouraged, but no glass bottles are permitted on the pool deck, under any circumstances. Water bottles made of aluminum or plastic are fine.
